Our Story

Crafting Comfort Since 1987

Born from a simple belief that furniture should honor both the hands that make it and the homes that hold it. For nearly four decades, we've been transforming sustainable materials into pieces that stand the test of time.

A Legacy of Excellence

What began as a small woodworking studio in Vermont has grown into a sanctuary for those who believe that beautiful living spaces are essential to a beautiful life.

Our founder, Henrik Larsen, emigrated from Copenhagen with a suitcase, a set of hand tools, and generations of Scandinavian furniture-making wisdom. His vision was simple yet revolutionary: create furniture that serves both function and soul, using only materials that nature can replenish.

Today, that vision lives on in every piece we create. Each item in our collection carries the DNA of those early designs—clean lines, honest materials, and an unwavering commitment to craftsmanship that transcends trends.

Sourced with Purpose

Every material tells a story. We choose ours with intention, ensuring each element honors the environment and enhances your space.

Reclaimed Oak

Century-old timber rescued from historic barns and buildings, each piece carries whispers of its past life. Rich patina that no new wood can replicate.

Organic Cotton

GOTS-certified organic cotton grown without harmful pesticides. Woven with care into fabrics that breathe, soften with time, and embrace you completely.

Recycled Steel

Industrial remnants transformed into elegant accents. Our powder-coated recycled steel adds strength and character while honoring the circular economy.

"
We don't design furniture for spaces. We design furniture for lives—for the quiet morning coffee, the Sunday dinners that stretch past midnight, the books read in lamplight. Every joint, every curve, every texture is crafted with those moments in mind.

— Henrik Larsen, Founder

A Promise to the Planet

Beautiful furniture shouldn't cost the earth. Our commitment to sustainability isn't a marketing claim—it's the foundation of everything we create.

Every decision we make, from sourcing to shipping, considers its environmental impact. Our workshops run on renewable energy, our packaging is plastic-free, and our delivery vehicles are transitioning to electric. We partner with reforestation programs, planting three trees for every one we use.

But sustainability isn't just about materials—it's about longevity. We build furniture meant to last lifetimes, not seasons. Pieces that will be passed down, not thrown out. That's the most sustainable choice of all.

The Process

Made by Masters

Our artisans bring an average of 23 years of experience to their craft. They work with time-honored techniques passed down through generations—dovetail joints fitted by hand, upholstery stretched with precision, finishes applied layer by patient layer.

In an age of mass production, we choose the slower path. A single sofa takes three weeks to complete. A dining table, two. But the result is furniture with character, furniture with soul—furniture that reveals new details the longer you live with it.

Before any piece leaves our workshop, it undergoes rigorous quality checks. We test for strength, comfort, and finish. We sit in every chair, rest on every sofa, gather around every table. Only then does it bear the Haven name.
